17/1/2018

As of the 9th January restart, there were 7 games left in the season for all teams (bar Mens with bye).
  • Competition games: Tuesdays - 9th Jan, 16th Jan, 23rd Jan, 30th Jan, 6th Feb (All Mixed teams play Waitangi Day; all Men's have a Bye).
  • Semi Finals and Finals game: 13th Feb, 20th Feb.
We expect all teams to stay committed to the competition (and the opposition) until the last week on 20th February.

Semi Finals & Finals
  • ALL TEAMS are included on the draw unless there is a bye.
  • The top 4 teams* in each section at the end of the competition round (which finishes 6th Feb) will be playing off for 1st - 4th place which includes prizemoney. All other teams will also play off for final placings. (*does not include NH Rep teams, who are not eligible to place. They will however still be given games).
  • Please note, we expect ALL TEAMS to play the last two weeks, regardless of whether they are eligible for top 4 prizemoney or not.
  • Re top 4 Semi's & Finals: Only players who have played the required 47% of games (eg 6 round robin games out of 13) during grading/competition rounds, will be eligible to take the field for Semis and Finals. Also note:
    • Module Manager - Bernie McCallion, will have a list of qualified players for teams to check.
    • Teams playing off for the top 4 places will have their players marked off prior to Semi's and Finals games commencing.
    • Prizemoney is given out to teams who place 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
    • Teams must play in the Semi's and Finals to be eligible for prizemoney.
    • Teams must have completed their player registrations (prior to 12th Dec 2017 cutoff).
    • Teams must be in correct uniform to play in the Semi's and Finals. (see notes below)
    • Teams must play the semi-finals in order to be eligible to play finals, be placed, and receive prizemoney.

UNIFORMS
A reminder that teams must be in correct uniform to avoid points being deducted. The rules state:
  • All players must wear IDENTICAL SHIRTS WITH NUMBERS (numbers no less than 10cm high).
  • All players must wear the SAME COLOURED SHORTS.
  • No player is to play in bare feet.

JUNIOR TOUCH - TWO WEEKS TO GO!

5/12/2017

We are now getting to the end of the Junior Local Touch season for 2017.
Some grades continue on with their round robin competitions, and some are now moving into Semi Finals this week, with Finals next week.
Please note that unless there's a bye, ALL teams play to the last week (11th, 12th, 14th December).

FINAL TWO WEEK'S DRAW STRUCTURES, PLACINGS AND PRIZES
Teams who place 1st will be receiving trophies, and teams placing 2nd will receive medals straight after their final game. Where there are grades split into Gold, Silver, Bronze, prizes will only go to the top 2 teams in the Gold section (as these are the top 2 teams for that entire grade).

Please note that where a grade is determined by the final points table, there may be a delay giving out prizes until all results are in.

ACHIEVEMENT CERTIFICATES
Reminder to Coaches that they were given a pack of Achievement Certificates at the start of the season. These are an opportunity for the Coaches to write an individual message to each of their players, noting something each player achieved during the season. These are designed to be handed out to all players at the end of the season.

Unfortunately to date we have only had 9 entries for Thursday Seniors, and with the competition due to begin in 2 weeks, we have had to make the difficult decision to pull the pin on our Thursday Senior Module.

We still have our Tuesday Module, but because we are at Becroft Park (with only 6 fields) this year, we only have 36 spaces available. It is filling fast, with only 8 spaces (Mixed or Mens) left as at 11 October, 11:00am. Get in quick!!

We're pleased to confirm that the venue for the Tuesday Junior Year 1&2 competition will be Mairangi Bay Park in Ramsgate Tce.
As we've only got 4 fields there, we cannot fit in the 'friendly' games. Therefore we have had to adjust the draw slightly. Please re-check.

For a location map and field layout for all 3 of our Junior venues, please go to the Locations page of the Local Touch website.

Competitions offered:
There are two Local Touch Senior competitions:
  • Tuesday night: Mixed, Men's, Women's
  • Thursday night: Mixed, Family Mixed

Venues:
Venues cannot be confirmed until the Council allocate all bookings. Sunnynook Park is closed this summer, so Local Touch have applied for Freyberg Park or Becroft Park for Tuesdays, and Becroft Park or McFetridge Park for Thursdays. Venues will be known by early September. We know this isn’t ideal, but could we ask teams to please be patient, and remain flexible when entering.

Dates:
  • Start Dates: Tuesday 24th and Thursday 26th October 2017
  • Semis and Finals: are played on the last two Tuesdays and Thursdays of the season (Tue 13th & 20th February 2018; Thu 15th & 22nd February 2018).

Please note the following entry information:
  • Fees will remain $550 per team this season. (Family Mixed fees are $150.00 per team)
  • A $200 per team deposit is due with entry.

  • Fees must be direct credited (after you enter online, you will be taken to a payment page to complete your bank transfer). No cheques or cash accepted.
  • Please note teams will not be included on the draw until full payment is received.

JUNIOR TOUCH 2017 ENTRY PACK

4/8/2017

The following is the email just sent out to our school contacts.

Hi All,
After a 3 year absence, Angie Lee returns to the roll of Junior Administrator, and we say thanks to Andrea Landon for the past two seasons in the role. Andrea however will still be working with us in the background.

Please note the following important messages, and be sure to read the Entry Pack thoroughly.

Dates:
Due to a short Term 4, the season is starting earlier than usual, with games beginning in Week 1 of Term 4.
Start Dates:
Monday 16th,Tuesday 17th and Thursday 19th October 2017
This means a shorter turn around time for getting entries in, as we need to get the draws out before the school holidays.
Provisional Entries Due:
Friday 18th August 2017 (two weeks to get a notice out to children/parents, and work out approximate number of teams)
Confirmation of Entries & Team Details Due: Monday 18th September 2017

Venues:
Venues cannot be confirmed until the Council allocate all bookings. Sunnynook Park is closed this summer, so Local Touch have applied for Freyberg Park or Becroft Park for Mondays, Mairangi Bay Park for Tuesdays, and Becroft Park or McFetridge Park for Thursdays. Venues will be known by early September. We know this isn’t ideal, but could we ask schools to please be patient and flexible when entering teams. Also please be aware that our Monday venue will be smaller than Sunnynook, therefore we may have rounds that start later than in previous seasons.

Players To Play In Only One Team:
Players must choose to play either boys/girls, or mixed.  This has always been in our Rules & Regulations. We have a large number of teams and our draw is usually at capacity, therefore adjusting draws to cater for children in more than one team unfortunately cannot be achieved.

Non-School/Composite teams:
Please note there are new guidelines in place for entering composite teams. These can be found in the Rules & Regulations section of this Entry Pack.

Tournament:
As we didn't get enough entries to our Tournament in Term One, we suggested we shifted the date to Wednesday 15th November (in Term Four).

[The email sent, included a survey for Persons in Charge of Touch to respond to. They've been asked to indicate if their school is interested in having a one day tournament in Term Four.]

ENTRY PACK
Click on the below link to access Entry Information for the 2017 season:
  • Entry Information Pack (698Kb .PDF file)
If your school chooses, you can customise the below Player Letter and Registration Form with your school information and use to distribute to your students.
  • Player Letter (157Kb .DOC file)
  • Player Registration Form (43Kb .DOC file)

We look forward to receiving your entries, and anticipate another great season for the Local Touch Junior Modules.
